Catamount

Soft, sky-toned walls and watercolor-inspired bedding bring a calm, airy feel to this refreshed guest favorite. The four-poster bed, now dressed in soothing shades of blue and cream, invites restful mornings and cozy nights beside the warm glow of the gas fireplace.

Botanical touches, natural textures, and charming artwork give the space a peaceful, garden-inspired feel. Just outside your private exterior door, you will find Stone Hill’s lush perennial gardens, a perfect setting for quiet moments and morning coffee.

Name Inspiration

The infamous Catamount is a large wild cat much like a mountain lion or panther, and also known as the Eastern Cougar. It has been declared extinct in Vermont since 2018, although occasionally Vermonter report mysterious sightings. The Catamount, despite being officially extinct, still plays a huge role in the State’s culture as the official mascot for the University of Vermont.
