Check-in & Check-out

Check-in: 4:00 pm
Check-out: 11:00 am

During busy seasons — especially fall foliage — our team uses the time between departures and arrivals to thoughtfully prepare each room for the next guest. This includes deep cleaning, laundry, property upkeep, errands, and event hosting. Because of this, we’re typically unable to welcome guests before 4:00 pm.

If you plan to arrive after 9:00 pm, please give us a call in advance so we can arrange our simple late check-in process.

Arriving Early?

We completely understand that travel timing doesn’t always line up perfectly. However, early check-in is rarely available, and we’re often away from the inn between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm while preparing for arrivals.

If you find yourself in town early, we recommend enjoying a little time around Stowe:

  • A relaxed stop at The Alchemist

  • Coffee or a light bite at Movement Coffee Roasters, Black Cap Coffee, or the Woodlands Bakery

  • Shopping or strolling through the village paths and recreation trail

It’s a lovely way to start your stay while we finish getting everything just right for you.

Early Check-In Option

When our schedule allows, we may offer limited early arrivals beginning at 2:00 pm for a $50 early check-in fee.

  • Subject to availability

  • Please call 24 hours in advance to request: (802) 253-6282

Minimum Stay Requirements

All weekends that include either a Friday or a Saturday night must consist of a two-night stay at our lodging in Stowe, Vermont. During the Fall foliage season and during Christmas week, all stays must be at least two nights.

Reservation Deposits

Upon making a reservation, a 50% deposit including tax will be charged to your credit card to hold and guarantee your reservation. Extras (chocolates, sleigh rides, massages, etc.,) are charged at the time they are ordered. A single night’s stay is charged 100% when the reservation is made.

Low/High Season

All months other than April, May, and November are considered High Season.

Cancellation Policy

As a small, independently owned inn, each reservation directly impacts our business. We do not overbook rooms like large hotels, and once a room is reserved, it is removed from availability for other guests. For this reason, our cancellation policy is firm and strictly enforced.

Standard Reservations

  • Cancellations or changes require at least 15 days’ notice prior to arrival

  • With proper notice, deposits are refunded less a $50 processing fee

High Season Reservations

(including foliage and select peak periods)

  • Cancellations or changes require at least 30 days’ notice prior to arrival

  • With proper notice, deposits are refunded less a $50 processing fee

Late Cancellations, Changes, or Early Departures

  • Cancellations made inside the required notice window are responsible for the full cost of the reserved stay

  • Early check-outs, shortened stays, or date changes are treated as cancellations and are non-refundable

  • If we are able to re-book your room, we will refund the re-booked portion only, less the $50 processing fee

Exceptions

The only exceptions are:

  • Airport closures that prevent travel, or

  • Official state police or government advisories instructing travelers to stay off the roads due to severe weather

All other circumstances — including illness, family emergencies, weather concerns, delayed travel, or changes in personal plans — remain subject to this policy.

Cancellation for Extras

Cancellations made within 30 days of the event will incur a $100 charge. Inn takeovers (such as for weddings) will incur a $500 cancellation fee.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing third-party travel insurance to protect your investment should unexpected issues arise.

We provide an option through TravelSafe as part of our online booking.

By confirming your reservation, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

Smoking Policy

THIS IS A NON-SMOKING INN. Smoking is ONLY permitted in two designated outdoor areas, regardless of the weather. Those choosing to disregard our policy will be asked to leave without refund, and a $250 cleaning fee will be charged to the credit or charge card on file, as well as an extra night’s charges, if necessary, in order to air the room to make it acceptable for incoming guests.

Damage to Property

We take great pride in keeping our inn clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained for every guest. We kindly ask that rooms and common areas be treated with care and respect during your stay.

Guests are responsible for any damage, missing items, or excessive cleaning needs that occur during their visit.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Broken or missing items

  • Excessive stains to linens, towels, or furnishings

  • Burns, smoke, or strong odors

  • Damage to furniture, fixtures, or décor

  • Cleaning beyond normal housekeeping standards

Charges

If damage occurs, repair or replacement costs will be assessed accordingly. Typical charges range from $100 to $2,000+, depending on the extent of the issue.

Charges may include:

  • Professional cleaning or repair

  • Replacement of items

  • Labor costs

  • Lost room revenue if the room must be temporarily taken out of service

The credit card on file may be used to cover these costs.

Thank you for helping us care for the inn so it remains welcoming and enjoyable for all guests.

Payment Options

Payment in full is expected at check-in. Accepted methods of payment are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash, money orders, and travelers’ cheques. Please, we can not accept personal or business checks.
