Swimming
Year-round! When summer is at its best, there are many natural rock and waterfall formations that will provide welcomed relief from Vermont’s version of a hot day – 89 degrees.
Stowe, Vermont Swimming Holes:
Bingham Falls – Just a half-mile walk from the road, this picturesque waterfall tumbles into a refreshing pool, perfect for a classic Vermont swim. The trail winds through a narrow gorge with some steep drop-offs and slick spots, so take your time.
Foster’s Hole – About a quarter mile up Notchbrook Road, you’ll find gentle cascades feeding into a beautiful pool surrounded by rocks and sunny banks. This is Foster's Hole, an inviting place to relax and enjoy the water.
Moss Glen Falls – A few miles north of Stowe Village, this dramatic cascade drops nearly 100 feet. The short trail rewards you with scenic viewpoints and small pools at the base of the falls. Be prepared for some steep sections along the way, and step carefully.
