Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival
Annual Fall Festival in Stowe

Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival
Named USA Today’s Best Fall Festival in the Nation, the Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival is a one-of-a-kind autumn celebration that blends creativity, engineering, and good-natured competition. The festival centers around the sport of “pumpkin chuckin’,” where teams launch pumpkins for distance using handmade trebuchets (gravity-powered catapults inspired by medieval design). The spectacle is as thrilling as it is unforgettable. The current record soaring is an impressive 861 feet.
Beyond the launches, the festival offers a lively village atmosphere with 40+ artisan and food vendors selling pottery, jewelry, maple products, honey, artwork, woodworking, photography, knitted goods, and more. It’s a joyful, family-friendly event that encourages hands-on creativity, teamwork, and playful rivalry, while supporting a meaningful cause.
Proceeds from the Vermont Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival benefit the Clarina Howard Nichols Center, helping fund critical programs dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence across Vermont.
